Our family has been involved in grape growing and wine making in the Szekszárd wine region, which has a history of more than two thousand years, since the 1700s. Like other wine-making families in the region, we also came to Szekszárd thanks to the colonization of Maria Theresa. After centuries of hardships, we began rebuilding in 1987 and have continuously developed the family business ever since. Our winery is managed by three of us (Ferenc Takler and his two sons, Ferenc Jr. and András). We craft our red wines by leveraging the excellent topography and soil conditions, along with the warm, sub-Mediterranean climate. Currently, we cultivate 70 hectares of vineyards. In our winery’s portfolio, alongside the world-famous varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Sauvignon, we also emphasize the local red wines, like the unique Kadarka, the increasingly popular Kékfrankos, and the Szekszárd Bikavér (Bull’s Blood), made by blending the aforementioned varieties.
